But THIS is probably THE achievement of my career. —-Possible FAQs—-
„SOLO GUILDS ARE NO GUILDS AND ARE STUPID“
Im a sociopath and a guildless-WvW-focused-player; so, to me, a „guild“ is just the tool to unlock buffs for WvW structures.
Silly ANET made the WvW buffs bound to the guild „mechanic“. But i’m not in a „real guild“, and i don’t want to be in it. Yet i play WvW and i deserve to claim and give buffs.
Are „WvW solo guilds“ stupid? I say ANET is stupid, for penalizing some WvW players just because they don’t have a shared tag floating above theyr character’s head.
Before HoT release, i used my „guild“ to give the „+5“. It was the one and only useful buff back then. Ofc, useful for all the people playing with strategy, and not just running in a silly-blobby-fuckfest.
With HoT things changed, cutting off WvW solo players.
„EVEN IF YOU’RE IN A SOLO GUILD YOU CAN ASK NON-GUILDS FRIENDS TO HELP YOU IN THE GUILD HALL CLAIM EVENT!“
Yup, i know it. But i wanted to do it solo. It’s a matter of principle. Besides, let’s not change the subject, don’t forget the real problem here is ANET trying to kill solo players.
„LOL, GOOD LUCK GETTING FAVORS IN A SOLO GUILD“
Thanks. Luckily there are some guild missions that are soloable. But it’s true it will take some time. Tbh, i’ll probably quit GW2 before being able to claim something in WvW.
But then again, that’s not really the point.
„SOLOING GUILD HALL LOOKS EASY WITH THIS BUILD“
Well, it is not easy.
A) Thief is the 1 and only class that can make it (for reasons i won’t bother type). So, not many options.
B) It may looks easy in the video, but is a bit more complicated. I just used „clean and calm video clips“, and just a fraction of them to make the video more easy to watch/understand. But i actually made different attempts, most failed even before reaching the legendary boss.
C) The fights are designed for groups of minimum 5 players. Meaning the mobs hurt a lot, they are nasty and it is a clusterfuck when you’re solo, even with this build.
D) Hey, i’ve a normal 3 buttons mouse and i’m a clicker, things were even more complicated for me. So yay to me.
E) There is a timer for each minor event (needed to complete the main one), and they spawn randomly in a very vast landscape. Long story short: it is a russian roulette. Many times i failed the event because of 10~ seconds or even just 1/2
F) It’s hard not to make mistakes when the stress builds up due to all this ^. And here, even 1 mistake can mean death and/or failure of the entire event.
G) Some of the vinetender are very close to a cliff edge (you can’t use #3 and dodges so casually). So it is impossible to kill them, considering the situation given (extremely short window of time, clusterfuck of mobs etc). Plus: one of mordrem maw’s hitbox is fucked up. And: a couple of events are (litterally) impossible to reach/complete in time due to theyr position
H) ^ Meaning: lots of „““failed“““ events (99,9% because of the timer or vintender on the cliffs).
Anyway, i could still type more, but to put it short: this is probably the hardest achivement to do in GW2, and i’m the first (and currently only) GW2 player on the Earth who managed to do it. Let me bask in some well deserved bragging giggles for a moment.
„YOU GOT LUCKY IN THE END AGAINST THAT BOSS“
The first time i died because i was overconfident „finally it is just 1 guy, how hard can it be?“. BAM, dead. Then i died about 3-4 more times, slowly learning what to do and how.
Problem is: completing 5 events to get to this guy takes a lot of time (between 25-30 minutes) of stressful gaming. And then boom, there is a timer on this fight as well.
„If i play too safe, the time ends up and i’ll have to repeat ALL THIS again; if i play too reckless to be quick, i’ll die and i’ll have to repeat ALL THIS again“. It was hard to find the right balance.
Near the end of the fighting clip, you can see me being full HP and him being at 10%; so i was actually pretty good. But then again, that guy is designed for groups of 5; so any little mistake can be the last one.
In the last moments, i admit it was my mistake to keep on fighting him on top of the black fissue AND while he was spinning. But mhè, i was just tired tbh. Anyway I think it would be unfair to say „i got lucky“. I’d say: i earned that epic win.
